Safety Rest Area Renovation

GREYHAWK provided design and construction phase commissioning for the renovation of Safety Rest Areas 47NB and 48SB on Highway 81. The project involved demolition of existing buildings, sidewalks, paving, and utilities and construction of new rest area buildings, water treatment buildings, and associated sitework. GREYHAWK reviewed coordination drawings, performed site visits during construction, maintained an issues log, and worked with the mechanical contractor on pre-functional testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) review and verification. The scope included commissioning of HVAC systems, including heat generation, refrigeration, ventilation, and HVAC control systems; building management systems (BMS); plumbing and domestic hot water systems; and electrical lighting and control systems. GREYHAWK functionally tested mechanical systems, coordinated correction of deficiencies, and coordinated staff training in systems operations and maintenance.
