GREYHAWK provided construction consulting and delay analysis services to the tri-venture contractor (BGKS), in settlement of a claim during construction of a new hospital. Expert consulting included responding to claims of wrongful termination, schedule delay, cost impacts, and excessive costs to complete electrical work after termination of the electrical contractor. The potential exposure to BGKS resulting from the claim approached Medical Unit of South Carolina (MUSC) Hospital5 million.
GREYHAWK worked closely with BGKS and its legal team to perform detailed analysis of hundreds of submittals, RFIs, change orders, CPM schedules, and work in place on the electrical subcontract to determine the status of work at termination, approved and pending change orders, the scope of work and budget to complete, and the efficacy of the completing subcontractor. GREYHAWK’s comprehensive analysis and mediation presentation demonstrated reasonableness of the termination and were used to achieve a successful settlement prior to litigation.
