GREYHAWK served as owner’s representative for the development of a new K-12 MaST Community Charter School, one of the highest ranked charter schools in the United States.  Phase One comprised a three-story, 53,000-square-foot building housing classrooms, administrative space, kitchen and dining facilities, indoor sports courts, maker space, arts and performance venues, and general support spaces.

MaST Community Charter School was founded in 1999 to create innovative pathways for students pursuing knowledge focused on Science, Technology, and Math (STEM). The project sits on a 19.3-acre tract in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. Site selection was based on the opportunity to integrate water-based environmental studies into MaST’s extensive science curriculum, and to facilitate on-site sports and recreation opportunities.

As owner’s representative for MaST Community Charter School, GREYHAWK was involved with every aspect of the project from initial planning to design, preconstruction, and construction. The GREYHAWK team assisted the school’s leadership in developing the budget and schedule, and in steering initial architectural planning to innovative, yet affordable, site layouts and building configuration.
