GREYHAWK was hired to provide enhanced design and construction phase commissioning services for mechanical systems for two projects that are part of the City of Philadelphia Rebuild program. Lawncrest Recreation Center is a Philadelphia Parks & Recreation facility (PPR). Lawncrest Library is a branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
Lawncrest Recreation Center is a 17.4-acre site with sports fields, courts, a playground, and a public pool. Its main 21,000-sf recreation building, built in 1949, contains a gymnasium, public computing center, weight room, and multipurpose spaces. The scope of work includes a 4,800-sf building addition along with building envelope repairs, roof replacement, significant interior alterations and renovations, and building system upgrades. The project scope includes renovation of the 3,800-sf club house and site improvements. All renovations are designed to achieve LEED Silver certification or higher. Completion is anticipated for September 2024.
Lawncrest Library is an 8,800-sf midcentury modern one-story building dating to 1961. The scope of work includes building envelope repairs, roof replacement, moderate interior alterations and renovations, and building system upgrades. Completion is anticipated for Spring 2025.
Mechanical systems to be commissioned by GREYHAWK consist of rooftop equipment, condensing units (CUs), ductless split systems (DSS), cabinet unit heaters (CUHs), unit heaters (UHs), radiant heating, and all appurtenances.
