Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts

GREYHAWK provided claims consulting services associated with the impacts of late and incomplete design drawings on construction of a world-class performing arts center. The Kimmel Center is home to the Philadelphia Orchestra, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Ballet, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia Chamber Music Society.

GREYHAWK performed a delay investigation and analysis of design errors and omissions and prepared a presentation of findings to support settlement short of litigation. The investigation revealed extensive impacts caused by the design team’s failure to furnish design information for construction in a timely manner and failure to maintain the contractual budget. Although the parties were unable to reach an agreement in mediation, they reached settlement early in litigation due in part to GREYHAWK’s investigation.
