Gloucester City School District

GREYHAWK provided project and construction management services on an as-needed basis to the Gloucester City School District. Services included assisting the district, architect, and engineer during the pre-design, design, bidding, and procurement phases of the district’s construction program. The Gloucester City School District serves over 2,300 students in Cold Springs Elementary School, Gloucester Middle School, and Gloucester City High School.

The project scope involved conversion of an existing classroom and adjacent storage room into an industrial arts classroom in the high school. The renovation incorporated sophisticated woodworking equipment, including a laser cutter and CNC router, in addition to traditional equipment, furniture, and cabinetry. All new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including a new dust collection system, were added to support the new space. In addition, an exterior instruction area was constructed with exterior electric service, a lumber rack, and an overview door for access between the exterior and interior spaces. The project was completed in 2023.
