Commissioning, Retro and Re-Commissioning, K-12 Education

Highlights

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Location

School District of Philadelphia

Client

GREYHAWK provided retro-commissioning for a four-story elementary school serving 644 students in grades K-8. The project involved retro-commissioning existing mechanical equipment and systems over an 18-month contract. The scope included retro-commissioning the HVAC and automatic temperature control (ATC) systems including boilers, pumps, primary air units, central air-conditioning units, makeup air units (MUAs), exhaust fans (EFs), heating unit ventilators (HUVs), unit heaters (UHs), cooling tower, and chiller. GREYHAWK tested every component of every system to identify mechanical deficiencies, restored the mechanical system to its original design intent, and recommended preventive maintenance procedures to prolong equipment life. The project supported building management, comfort, energy use, and energy expenditure for the LEED Gold certified building.
