MOORESTOWN, NJ (January 5, 2015) – GREYHAWK, an award-winning construction management and consulting firm headquartered in Moorestown, has announced the addition of Jay Appleton, PE as Project Executive/Program Manager. He joins GREYHAWK after serving as Vice President for a local commercial real estate development and design-build firm.
A licensed Professional Engineer with more than 35 years of national experience, Appleton leads large and diverse project teams in the development of educational and healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, churches, cultural institutions, and mixed-use/residential projects.
Appleton is known for his expertise in site infrastructure development/revitalization and building construction specialties including historic preservation and adaptive reuse. He is also recognized as a leader in the development of K-12 charter and independent schools, and in the management of complex exhibit and media programs for museums, visitors’ centers and corporate briefing centers.
Appleton provides technical support and leadership to a number of professional and trade organizations. He is a member of the leadership team with the Philadelphia District Council of the Urban Land Institute where he has been elected to the Governance Committee and the District Council Advisory Board. He is also an active member of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council, the Project Management Institute, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Active in the community, Appleton serves with several non-profit community organizations. In his role as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Enterprise Center in Philadelphia, he served as Board liaison to the Enterprise Heights Community Development Corporation, and helped to coordinate the extensive community revitalization work of the Board's local economic development entity. He is Past Chairman of the Board of Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development, a local non-profit developer of affordable housing, and is a member of the Camden Local Operating Board of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
Appleton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering & Construction Technology from Thomas Edison State College, and is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Professional Engineer, with specialization in Civil, Sanitary, and Structural Engineering.
