GREYHAWK provides LEED commissioning services to support the LEED certification process by reducing energy and carbon emissions and improving occupant comfort. Our engineers work in the field, not the office. Using real-world experience, we identify cost-effective, easy-to-implement solutions that deliver impressive results.
LEED Fundamental Commissioning, sometimes called basic commissioning, is defined by LEED EA Prerequisite 1. It may be performed on new construction, renovation, or addition projects. Any building seeking LEED certification must include Fundamental Commissioning of the following systems:
- HVAC&R and associated controls
- Lighting and daylighting controls
- Domestic hot water systems
- Renewable energy systems
LEED Enhanced Commissioning is defined by LEED EA Credit 3 and includes all components of Fundamental Commissioning with added deliverables during the design development and post-construction phases, including a systems manual. GREYHAWK works with owners, design professionals, and contractors to prepare a comprehensive systems manual that incorporates O&M manuals, preventive maintenance guidelines and schedules, as-built sequences of operation and control drawings, and system operating instructions. LEED Enhanced Commissioning includes:
- Development of owner’s project requirements (OPR)
- Development of a basis of design (BOD) for each system
- Review of design documents
