Our client’s goal was to have their manufacturing facility become LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, a status granted by the U.S. Green Building Council, at the Silver level. Princetel, Inc. is a U.S.-based manufacturer of fiber optic inter-connect products. They operate out of a one-story, 41,000-square-foot facility. This facility required energy efficient addition and renovation work in both their office and manufacturing areas to achieve LEED Silver status. GREYHAWK provided necessary fundamental commissioning services in accordance with LEED-NC (EA Prerequisite 1) to assist Princetel in receiving their LEED Silver Certification.

Work performed by GREYHAWK in order to comply with the necessary LEED requirements included review of “Owner’s Project Requirements” and “Basis of Design” as well as performing submittal review of relevant commissioning systems and components. GREYHAWK provided commissioning activities at various stages of installation and start-up for the HVAC system focusing on specific components, such as the air handling unit, energy recovery unit, vari-flow heat pump assemblies. The newly installed rain collection system, the solar domestic hot water system and the lighting control system were also commissioned as part of this program. Our effort was finalized by performing O&M manual review and training verification to satisfy LEED requirements.
