GREYHAWK is providing design-build construction management services to the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (NJSDA) for a three-phase high school renovation and addition project to allow for ongoing education of 2,026 students in grades 9-12. The construction team used swing space to facilitate ongoing activities, beginning with construction of a temporary on-campus cafeteria. Phased work over a five-year timeline began with a 29,500-sf classroom and cafeteria addition as Phase 1. Phase 2 involved simultaneous construction of a 30,500-sf auditorium addition and 71,000-sf science lab/vocational shop addition. Phase 3 includes 57,000 sf of select demolition and reconstruction of administrative offices and additional educational space with scheduled completion in 2023.
GREYHAWK’s construction management scope includes design review, submittal and shop drawing reviews, schedule reviews, and confirming the design-builder’s documents comply with NJSDA standards. Construction phase services include daily on-site monitoring of all construction activities; tracking the design-builder’s daily manpower, baseline schedule and monthly schedule updates, and monthly payment applications; chairing progress meetings; and coordinating the extensive permitting process. GREYHAWK provides monthly progress reports to NJSDA providing updates and areas of concern. Following construction, GREYHAWK will schedule furniture deliveries and placement, resolve all open issues, confirm punch list completion, review and confirm acceptance of the commissioning report and all required project closeout documentation and scheduling, and attend a post occupancy 11-month project walk-through review.
