Barrett Richards, CEP, CCC, PSP

Barrett Richards has more than 20 years of experience in project management oversight; claims and litigation support; project planning and scheduling as well as pre-construction and constructing cost estimating. He has provided services at all stages of the construction life-cycle, from feasibility studies though project close-out, and construction claim preparation and analysis. Barrett has provided construction cost assessment services during project design, developed and updated fully detailed cost estimates throughout project design, created and analyzed project schedules, facilitated change order negotiations, prepared cost-to-complete reviews, provided construction management services, developed construction claims for both owners and contractors, and served as an expert witness. His clients have included public and private sector entities in the following industries: aviation, commercial real estate, financial services, hospitality/entertainment, petrochemical, power/utility, state and local government agencies, education, and residential.

Barrett received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Brigham Young University and an MBA in International Business from Hofstra University. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEi) and serves on the Ethics Board.  He has received professional certifications as a certified Cost Consultant (CCC), a Certified Estimating Professional (CEP), and a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) from AACEi.

Barrett is also a member of the New York City Bar association where he serves as a member of the Construction Law Committee. He is also a member of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law, Associated General Contractors of America, and Construction Financial Managers Association.

In addition, Richards has been a speaker and educator on the topics of construction cost estimating, planning, and scheduling. He has stressed the importance of producing and maintaining accurate and timely cost and time records for the benefit of all project stakeholders. He is a focused team leader who is experienced in areas across the construction life-cycle from pre-construction through close-out, and claims and litigation.
